I am Qi Liu (pronounced Chee Lyoo), and my name in Chinese is 刘奇. I was born and raised in Hubei Province, China. In 2018, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Information Science and Technology from China University of Mining and Technology. In 2021, I obtained my Master’s degree in Control Engineering from Tsinghua University, where my research focused on machine learning and bioinformatics. After that, I gained three years of industry experience in the data science group at the Global Health Drug Discovery Institute in Beijing. In December 2024, I started my Ph.D. at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and joined the Ertürk Lab. Here, my work is on machine learning, foundation models, and the processing and analysis of biomedical data. In my spare time, I enjoy playing badminton, cooking, and taking photographs.
